didn't realize it had been raining this morning

until I went out the back door with the kitchen trash.....between rain and muggy heat I haven't been getting much walking done lately, or much yard work either......and it looks like I even forgot this Report a couple days.....just plain lazy and hazy, fuzzy-minded......well, Dave and Tree should be at their campsite up in the Smoky Mountains I suppose, or maybe still enroute ........I cleaned some gross stuff out of the fridge before I took out the trash, but still have lots of things in there that need attention.....black beans and rice, cold grocery store fried chicken.....used some country sausage with my french toast breakfast this morning......it's staying cool in the house so far today.....with ceiling fans going in whichever room I'm in at the time......now I think I hear more rain ......I have enough avocado left for another turkey lunch sandwich......with hearts of romaine for lettuce on it too.....can probably nap some after lunch, not much energy for doing anything else.....got plenty of reading material, and I've been finding some Prime movies to watch before bedtime......was nice out on the porch last night between the end of the movie and full dark......

I fixed black beans and rice with onion and hamburger added, and hearts of romaine salad with blue cheese dressing....hadn't bought any of that in years.....but I forgot a few things Wednesday when I was in the grocery store.....like olive oil, and apple cider vinegar.....so maybe I can get it right this morning on a Walmart trip.....get a bag of ice over there too.....it's just too muggy to get out and run the weed eater and mower.....maybe there will be a breeze Friday morning, like last Friday.....I've got a package of smoked turkey breast for lunch sandwiches.....I'll look at Walmart avocados if I can find them.....suffering brain drain in this weather, or maybe it's just more senility.....forget to do things, or can't remember if I forgot them or not.......just comes with the territory I guess.....the land of the lost.....

If there were more of a breeze I might go walking....but it was about like this yesterday when I went to walk the park, and it was really too muggy to be pleasant......I could use the exercise on the one hand, while on the other hand, the elderly should be careful of heat exhaustion sneaking up on you .....even under seemingly benign conditions......they say you are only as old as you feel....well, I feel elderly a lot lately......had hamburger steak with grilled Vidalia onion for Monday supper, with veggie sides of an ear of corn and a pile of slaw.....tonight might be sausage and egg scramble, grits.....then shopping day again.....I heard the mailman a while ago, I should go see if the ads are in the mailbox.....yes, grocery ad and something from an insurance agency.....

more or less sweltering Sunday afternoon late

so I turned on the AC for a while......77 mostly cloudy this morning......patty melt worked for supper yesterday, but now I'm out of cheese......hmm, the City bill just came in the mail.....about 40 bucks worth of electricity for 5/16 to 6/19.....not too bad.....I should get out and go for a walk before it gets any warmer......

no blog yesterday

I was busy.....mowed the back lawn and did laundry.....and Dave and Tree came by for GotoMeeting with the Santa Barbara brothers.....and we got my Weber kettle out of the shed and grilled some really good sweet corn from a local roadside produce stand.....and hot dogs....they had vegan, I had BallPark....I got pretty sweaty going for the paper early on.....bright sun and more humid than the last few days.....but now it's overcast and staying in the 70s so far.....at 4:30 in the morning I was in the kitchen getting a drink of water, and I could see the full moon shining big and bright.....but by the Eastern Daylight Time of the "Supermoon" at 7:32, it was daylight and the moon was behind the trees out the kitchen window anyway.....I still have an awful lot of cole slaw to consume.....have to work on that over the next few days......should do something with ground beef for supper, got plenty of that too....like a pumpernickel patty melt with grilled onions and Swiss cheese.....I think there's swiss left in the fridge somewhere.....I'm going real slow today for some reason, but I don't have any hard schedule to adhere to so I'll continue slow and easy.....

is this Friday? woke up thinking it was Saturday.....

Dave and Tree stopped by for quite a while yesterday.....were here when the band was playing over by the tracks.....I had steak with onions, fries, corn....in the kitchen....they had Thai over in Spartanburg before they came over this way......http://blog.travelpod.com/members/tdtingle.....see this blog for a good time!    

feel better today

yesterday I felt somewhat dragged-out and listless.....some clouds are helping keep it cooler so far this morning.....had pulled pork on a whole wheat sub roll and slaw for Wednesday supper.....sat out on the porch until 9:30 last night, talking with a neighbor......pretty nice out that time of evening.....should go for another walk if I can work up the gumption.....
