shook the house

Thunder around 2 am......eventually there was one huge rip of lightning and the skies opened up, as they say.....rain poured down in buckets as the noisy part of the front rolled off to the east and I went back to sleep.....was still raining when I got up, but by the time I finished breakfast it had turned to just fog, so I could go get the paper....things were pretty flooded around town.....there was like a little creek flowing off the church grounds and into a storm drain on Academy.....63F, got up to 80 yesterday, same predicted today.....chance of afternoon showers again....managed to iron skillet the tortillas to a little crispiness so the huevo rancheros would just lift out of the pan and onto the plate easily.....tasty stuff.....used the church sale fifty cent glass bowl to poach an egg this morning....it could have been made for that, just the right size.....found a quirky Brit series to watch, and also watched a movie about corruption in high places.....those are always believable anyway.....

  1. Around the corner when I went for the park walk there's one house had a big oak branch split off in the storm.....it's resting on top of the front porch, still hanging on where it split off....but it's a huge branch that's going to take somebody who knows what they're doing to get it down without actually smashing the porch or more......it's next door to Bubba, where the folks are trying to get moved in whose house burned down in Laurens....Bubba says bad luck must be following them.....
